ANE berichtet unter der Überschrift „Delphi steps up Eastern expansion“:
Delphi is expanding aggressively in the East, Ronald Pirtle, the supplier’s new European head, said. The global supplier is boosting manufacturing operations in key central European countries and in Russia, Pirtle told the Automotive News Europe Congress. „We have several activities ongoing in Russia and we are adding more,“ Pirtle said.
Delphi’s long-term strategy is focused on three mega-trends important to its OEM customers and car buyers alike, Pirtle said. First is development of green technologies capable of reducing CO2 emissions, such as better engine and powertrain management systems or more efficient air conditioning units. Second are safety and security technologies, which are increasingly being designed to prevent accidents as well as protect passengers. Third are entertainment and communication technologies designed to keep drivers and passengers connected in their cars, Pirtle said. „It is amazing to see how customer demand for connectivity is transforming vehicle electronics,“ Pirtle said. Pirtle, 53, was appointed president of Delphi Powertrain Systems and president of Delphi Europe, Middle East and Africa earlier this month.
